Through My Eyes - Litter
Nerds
I don't think this is Arugula
red & green circles
I swear my MIL didn't send me this!
An unexpected ear of corn. All I could think of at the time, was summer cannot get here fast enough!
A moment of Zen.
A snow sculpture. I loved how the snow melted and refroze grabbing hold of the bottle.
The decaying paper reminded me of lace.
This plastic bottle has an interesting texture.
Love the shape of this piece of shoe.
How could you not be inspired by kittens?
I honestly never thought I'd be inspired by litter, but it happened. I don't know that I've turned any of it into art, but I like to look at this mini series as a little work of art. So take a walk around your neighborhood or local park and help clean up the litter. Maybe you'll be inspired too. Maybe the inspiration will come from the shapes, colors, forms or words (remember Charlotte's Web) that you find. You might even find something that you'd like to include in your art. And even if you don't find any inspirational litter, you will have cleaned your environment up a bit! So it's a win win all around! Happy picking!

Be Inspired to Keep Going
I quick apology to my readers for being MIA in recent months. I just had to much going in in my "real life" and didn't feel "Inspired" to blog. There are a ton of blogs out there who discuss inspiration, and I kind of felt like I was preaching to the choir, but a few e-mails and convos from readers and watching my stats with people faithfully coming by to see if there was anything new here, I've decided to blog again. I can't promise daily posts, but I'll work on several posts a week to start out. I think just like with creating art, if you pay too much attention to what others around you are doing, you start to lose focus, so I'm keeping my eyes on what my focus is and even if I'm saying something that's been said before, it will be from my perspective and through my eyes, so hopefully that will make it original and inspiring to my readers! Also, I just realized I started this little blog 3 years ago this month, so what a perfect time to give it some new life!
While I have been absent from the blog, I haven't been absent from creating and taking pictures. Here are some recent inspiring photos I've taken over the last couple of months. May they bring you inspiration too! Don't forget to visit and join my Daily Art Inspiration Flickr group. It's still going strong with some great inspirational photos from me and my friends!

We did have one addition to the family while I was MIA. Here's my new co-worker & muse, Cesar:

Indie Fixx is coordinating a fundraiser benefiting victims of the earthquake in Haiti. Indie designers have donated items to be auctioned off with 100% of the proceeds going to the Red Cross International Response Fund. I have donated both a print and a smitten necklace (see below). You can bid on one or both here. Learn more about the fundraiser here. I'll include lots of extra goodies for the generous winners!!

Today's Daily Dose of Inspiration 01/02/10
Santa brought my 7 year old an electric guitar for Christmas. He's been asking for 2 years now, and he was just thrilled when he opened it. He's been playing it everyday, so I thought it would be the perfect subject for inspiration today (plus it would give me n excuse to get it away from him for a few moments). I focused on the details rather than the whole and played with the lighting to make it a bit more dark. Rock stars are dark, so I thought it was fitting. Kyle has now informed me that I need to get him a leather jackets because all rockers wear leather jackets. I think Santa has created a monster (or at least a badass rocker)! Here are the pics that made the final cut:

Happy 2010! & What I've Been Up To
First, I'd like to wish all my readers a Happy 2010!! May it be a creative year for all of us and may we share a bit of it together! My 2010 is all about reorganizing, restructuring and refocusing, so hopefully that will help me improve both the frequency and content of the blog. I'd like it to be a bit more interactive, but I know that takes work and steady posting, so I'll work on my part, and I encourage readers to start posting links to their artwork and their inspirations. I'm thinking about a monthly challenge too! Don't forget that there is also a Flick group: Daily Art Inspiration where you can get and share inspiration.
Here's what I've been up to over the last couple of weeks. Most of my time was spent hanging with my family. I needed a break and didn't even take that many photos. I felt like I needed to just focus on them for a while and rely on my mind to save the memories and not my camera. Here are the boys showing off their handmade New Year's Glasses:
I finally felt like taking some pics yesterday, so I had a "Photoshoot" with some candy canes. Apparently my mind is already thinking towards Valentine's Day:
And some major fun in the snow (a whole 2 feet of it)!
Happy New Year!! I look forward to sharing it with you!!
